Dense Carpet Grass for Sun and Shade
Zoysia grass is a luxurious fine blade or medium blade grass, with deep green color, and carpet like growth and texture. The soft, fine bladed texture forms a dense, tight mat. Zoysia sod is great for both home and commercial properties, and does well in both sunny and semi shady areas. Used in residential applications, golf courses, playgrounds, and parks. Maintains good winter color in Florida for year round curb appeal.
- Beautiful and durable carpet feel
- Heat and drought tolerant once established
- Tolerates moderate to heavy foot traffic
- Performs in shaded areas where Bermuda fails
- Hardy across USDA zones 5 through 10
Best ForFamily yards with kids and pets, mixed-sun residential lots, and Central + South Florida properties needing wear recovery.
Zoysia Holds Up Under Daily Use
Empire and Zeon Zoysia stay thick under kids, dogs, and weekend yard parties. The fine blade and tight growth pattern recover from foot traffic faster than St. Augustine and far faster than most cool season grasses.
Bug resistance is another reason families pick Zoysia. Chinch bugs and grubs cause less damage on Zoysia than on St. Augustine.
What a Mature Zoysia Lawn Looks Like
Two to three weeks after install, the runners knit and the lawn fills in. Color stays deep green from spring through fall. Mild winter freezes can dormant Zoysia briefly, then it greens back up faster than St. Augustine in spring.
Mow at 1.5 to 2 inches with a sharp blade. Deep, infrequent watering beats daily light watering for root depth.
